BoxedIn runs through the veins and the heart and the soul of Boxpark Shoreditch because, after all, isn’t that what Boxpark is all about? It’s a space to connect and explore your creativity and discover greatness, not only in others but in yourself too. That’s why BoxedIn is so important.

This month’s event is fast approaching – Tuesday 22 August to be precise – so there’s not long to go. If you’re undecided on whether you want to take that plunge and showcase your spoken word skills, then let us help give you that encouraging push.

BoxedIn isn’t just Boxpark’s partial namesake, it’s very much it’s own living, breathing entity and it has given a platform to so many skilled and aspiring performers. The idea is so refreshingly simple – take a practical space (like Boxpark Shoreditch) – set up a microphone, invite a warm and engaging crowd and encourage London’s brightest and most influential writers and performers to take to the mic and deliver their original and inspiring material.

This month, BoxedIn will be bringing Remi Graves and Nik Way to the stage to inspire and transport you with their words. Remi is a poet and drummer based in London and a member of Roundhouse’s Poetry Collective. Her work is rooted in the simplicity of daily life and grapples with the idea of identity. Nik Way is a poet, writer and bookseller who studied at Kingston University and, In 2013, was shortlisted to be the Young Poet Laureate of London.

Entry to BoxedIn is completely free and if you show up from 7pm there’s a thirty minute window to sign up for the open mic portion of the evening. If you need a little inspiration, here’s a taste of when Kite Visionary took to the mic earlier this year.

So, whether you’re joining BoxedIn on 22 August to observe, admire and be captivated, or, you feel like getting your hands dirty and participating with your own material; we look forward to hosting you for what is guaranteed to be an unforgettable evening.
