Eat. Skinny Kitchen

6 Jun 18

Healthy food hangout, The Skinny Kitchen, has arrived at Boxpark Croydon, and I’m here to tell you all that’s good in the world of stripped-back, nutritious, clean eating.

First up, let’s talk decor. Skinny Kitchen is housed in a spacious double unit at Boxpark Croydon that faces outwards into town. It’s well lit with ample seating for customers as well as a mouth-watering countertop full of delicious snacks and tempting treats – guilt free ones, of course. The walls have a gorgeous pastel pink splash of hipster chic with vibrant jungle leaves dotted around neatly decorated tables. It’s a nice place to be.

Which is just as well because the menu happens to be pretty damn good, too.

The breakfast and brunch items include everything you could ever want or need from a healthy and fresh menu, including peanut butter and banana on sourdough toast, avocado, free range scrambled eggs; there’s protein cakes in a plethora of delicious flavour combos; salmon, tacos, banana bread, and even a nutritious açai bowl.

The real stand-out item is the £6 lunch box.

The concept is simple – you pick your mains from a selection of beef, chicken, salmon, jackfruit and soy, and then you load it up with your choice of two sides. A personal recommendation would be the delicious light and fluffy sweet potato; top tip, load your spud with a healthy dollop of avocado and jalapeño dressing; it’s got a mean kick but it’s damn tasty.

The Skinny Kitchen also offers a top selection of refreshing, healthy, protein-filled beverages too. There’s hangover-busting juices, intensely flavoured smoothies, protein shakes, and a piping hot menu of delicious teas and fresh coffees.

So, what more do we need to say? Get yourself down to the Skinny Kitchen, open seven days a week at Boxpark Croydon, and sample some of the freshest flavours from south of the river.
