Festive Film: A Christmas Carol

17 Dec 17

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Boxpark Croydon...

On Monday 18 December, we're inviting families across the borough to settle in for a cosy evening of festive frolics and comedy capers with Robert Zemeckis's, critically acclaimed, 2009 adaptation of Charles Dickens's 'A Christmas Carol'.

Incorporating the same technique and style used to create 'Polar Express', A Christmas Carol tells the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge's journey of self-discovery and redemption, as he's confronted by three ghosts who take him from his difficult past, to his belligerent present and further ahead to his broken future. Jim Carrey steps into the motion-capture costume to bring Scrooge to life and delivers his usual cartoonish and slapstick blend of comedy. The movie also features a stellar supporting cast, including, Gary Oldman, Bob Hoskins, Colin Firth and Robin Wright.

Zemeckis's retelling of this Christmas classic story is fun for children and adults alike. The best part? It's free! Click here to register for your tickets.

The film runs from 6-8pm and be on the lookout for further festive treats in the run-up to Christmas.
