Mental Health Awareness Week at BOXPARK

Shoreditch

15 May 23

The last few years have been extremely tough with Covid-19, lockdowns and the cost of living crisis playing a huge part in so many people's lives. Mental Health Awareness week is coming up from 15 to 21 May so we wanted to take a deep dive into the 2023 theme ‘Anxiety’.

Anxiety is a normal emotion in us all, but sometimes it can get out of control and become a mental health problem. Lots of things can lead to feelings of anxiety, including exam pressures, relationships, starting a new job (or losing one) or other big life events. We can also get anxious when it comes to things to do with money and not being able to meet our basic needs, like heating our home or buying food.

Did you know anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems people face? A recent mental health survey carried out by The Mental Health Foundation revealed that a quarter of adults said they felt so anxious that it stopped them from doing the things they want to do, some or all of the time. Six in ten adults feel this way, at least some of the time.

On a positive note, anxiety can be made easier to manage and in today’s age there is an abundance of accessible tools, support, guidance and products that can help with this.  At BOXPARK Shoreditch, we have some amazing health and wellness shops that offer products to help with the feelings of anxiety and stress.
