TRADER UPDATE: Chilango moves unit to launch its first digital ordering service at BOXPARK Croydon

12 Apr 21

From 12 April, our mates over at Chilango who previously sat on the upper deck at BOXPARK Croydon have now moved downstairs to Unit 20/21 as they launch their first digital ordering service.

The Mexican street food chain is moving towards a digital-only service as consumer habits shift towards online ordering, particularly during the pandemic. At the new unit, customers will now be able to order food via Chilango’s new digital kiosks or in advance via its website, and orders can be collected through the designated pick-up area.

During the lockdown, Chilango benefitted from an increasing demand for home deliveries and even opened three delivery kitchens across London. The team believes offering a seamless digital experience is the best way to satisfy our modern day customers’ needs.

Chilango Managing Director Richard Franks says: “We are so excited to be exploring new ways to bring the Chilango experience to our guests. This new style of restaurant opens up possibilities of different footprints for future openings. Through digital ordering, customers can fully customise their burritos, boxes and salads, as well as choose from a list of sides and drinks.

“Consumers are demanding digital access more than ever before so we’re constantly exploring new ways to enhance the experience for our customers. During lockdown, delivery and online orders made a huge difference to our business and this will continue to be a key driver or our recovery and future growth strategy.”
